King's Cottage homestay in Coorg is a family-run establishment set at the foothills of Tadiandamol, the highest peak in Kodagu district. The estate is ancestral property, adjacent to the Nalknad palace, a 1792 marvel constructed by Dodda Veerarajendra, then ruler of Kodagu. The estate grows both coffee and paddy, both integral crops to Kodavas. There are also multiple fruiting trees and some pepper as well!

King's Cottage was designed to be a comfortable stop for trekkers enroute Tadiandamol, a region that at the time was far more remote and offbeat. Deepti and Viju Poonacha and their family have been lovingly hosting guests for over 19 years. And counting!
