Nalknad Palace

A resplendent palace constructed by Dodda Virajarendra, the erstwhile King of Coorg, the Nalknad Palace is a mere 500m from our homestay in Coorg. Visit to admire the frescoes on the walls and the construction of the "aramane" as big houses and bungalows are referred to here.

Padi Sri Iguthappa Swamy Temple

Do visit the Padi Sri Iguthappa swamy  temple located 6km from our homestay in Coorg, the home of a deity that holds a place in every Kodava's heart. No festival in Coorg is complete without a visit to the temple and the delectable, wholesome temple food provided to all pilgrims!

Kabbe Hills and Chelavara Falls

For those who want to get a taste of adventure but don't want to trek Tadiandamol, visit Kabbe instead! Kabbe is a short 14km drive from King's Cottage, and is a 3-4 hour trek in total that's easy-moderate depending on fitness levels. Do carry sufficient hydration and food enroute. And on the way to the viewpoint, you can also stop at Chelavara falls for some relaxing fun!

Talacauvery, Bhagmandala

Distance from King's Cottage: 36.5km

The birthplace of the Cauvery river, one of the most integral lifelines for the entire state of Karnataka, lies in Coorg. Talacauvery is a sanctum constructed around the reservoir where the cauvery is said to have originated, and this too is a must-visit for its views and the temple itself.

Raja's Seat, Madikeri

A stunning viewpoint constructed specially for the ruler of Coorg district. Definitely visit Raja's Seat in the evenings to watch the sun set over this magnificent land!

Nagarhole Tiger Reserve

Distance from King's Cottage: 75km
Timings: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Entry fees: Safari charges as applicable

Does the wild call to you? Visit Nagarhole Tiger Reserve, one of the most pristine Protected Areas in Karnataka, a safe haven for our national animal. Safaris are available at 6:30 AM and 3:30 PM!

Iruppu Falls, Kutta

Located in the Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary not very far from Nagarhole, Iruppu Falls in Kutta is a stunning, cascading waterfall that is even more resplendent during monsoons. Look out for the leeches!
